Tanuky's Truisms: Gifts

Truism 1: Never accept any gift that was not required or desired. A gift is a form of debt creation or emotional blackmail.

Truism 2: People give gifts to gratify themselves, not the receiver of the gift. People want to feel good about giving it. A splendid giver want to be praised by the quality of the gift, a cheap giver want to be praised by the gift.

Truism 3: People that give gifts want something in return. There will be an expectation of something in return. Let it be another equal or better quality or value gift or blind gratitude to the giver.

Truism 4: People will try to place more value on the intention of the giver than on the actual usefulness or desire of the receiver of the gift. The giver wants the intention to be more important than the practicality of the gift. A receiver of the gift that does not appreciate the gift is labeled as ungrateful.

Truism 5: A truly concerned person would ask the receiver of the gift what they like, what they need and what is useful for them. People that do not do this, do not appreciate the receiver of the gift, as such they and their gift must be reject.

¿Ya el puertorriqueño ya no tiene dignidad? (2da Parte)

“La piña está agria”, es la razón que un puertorriqueño me dio para justificar el robo. Pero no es el robo de comida porque se tenía hambre o de medicinas porque se estaba enfermo. Es el robo del lujo y el entretenimiento.

Cobijo. Nutrición. Salud. Paz. Libertad. Son una expectativa razonable para cualquier ser humano. Y es razonable esperar que una persona satisfaga esas expectativas por cualquier medio que sea necesario. Sin embargo el lujo y entretenimiento es únicamente un derecho para aquel que puede trabajar por los mismos.

Sin embargo el gabazo de puertorriqueños que queda en Puerto Rico no lo quiere entender así.

Puerto Rico se ha convertido en una isla de ladrones. Donde la norma no es el respeto a la integridad personal y de la propiedad ajena. Si no que el robo, el hurto, la apropiación ilegal, el abuso de confianza, la malversación de fondos o cualquier otro nombre que se pueda utilizar para llamar al arrebatar de alguna forma lo que no es de uno.

Ya sea por los medios de la violencia física o la violencia del mendigo es una meta común del puertorriqueño actual el robar lo que no sea ganado. Sea convertido en una norma el exigir como si fuera un derecho, algún reclamo sobre lo que no es de uno. Todo basado en un esotérico razonamiento de la efímera necesidad. Tengo la necesidad de ver la nueva película, sin pagar por ella… tengo la necesidad de una mejor sillón para ver la película, sin pagar por el…

El puertorriqueño se cree tener derecho sobre la propiedad de las demás personas. Se cree que tiene el derecho a tener lo que otros tienen. Pero, no reclama el derecho a trabajar, a esforzarse por estudiar y laborar para obtener la remuneración necesaria para poder adquiera los bienes que codicia. El trabajo y el esfuerzo no son fuente de orgullo.

Debería ser un orgullo el poder decir que puedo costearme lo que deseo. Pero el actual puertorriqueño promedio no siente orgullo de poder constarse sus arrebatos. Por el contrario, el puertorriqueño actual siente orgullo de decir, “le he robado a…” o “he obtenido gratis…”.

Así se invierten los valores. Donde la persona que es capaz de producir y pagar el justo precio por un producto es llamado un tonto (u otro epíteto en la línea de idiota o pendejo). Además de ser estigmatizado como pretencioso cuando este puede pagar por un lujo. Más aun es condenado cuando estima que no ha de compartir ese lujo que se ha ganado por sus esfuerzos.

La mayoría de los puertorriqueños no tienen dignidad. Una persona que tiene dignidad es la que puede decir compré o gané con mi esfuerzo… Una persona con dignidad trabaja por lo que tiene o desea… Una persona con dignidad no roba o mendiga. Si no que vive su realidad con su frente en alto sin lamentarse por su condición o justificar sus malas acciones. Porque está muy ocupado esforzándose por mejorar…

Tanuky’s Truisms: Charity and Philanthropies

Truism 1: Charity is an act of the ego. Charities are a form of gratification of the giver.

Truism 2: Charities and philanthropy are nothing more than a guilt riding actions. They are designed to alleviate the feeling of guilt of the person that has achieved something.

Truism 3: Good intentions are never enough. Good intentions do not make a wrong-doing right.

Truism 4: Charities and philanthropies need to benefit the immediate community of the giver. Those who do not are a waste of resources.

Truism 5: Before you can be charitable you need to be greedy. Without a descent amount of resources charity is only self destructive. Selfishness is the first step in any charitable endeavor.

Truism 6: Charities are an investment is a better community. They must be targeted to be assets that will yield the best result. Charity toward constant failures is a waste of resources.

Truism 7: Charity should be given to the deserving. To those who have worked to earn the charity of others. Giving to the undeserving is a waste of resources. Need is not a reason to give or to receive, just an excuse for the benefit of the undeserving.
