Friendship
You are nothing but a spoiled selfish little brat, raised in privilege that deludes yourself in believing you are a gift from god.
Friendship is a privilege not a right. It is a privilege that goes both ways of the equation. One person should feel honored to have someone’s friendship. As that person should consider giving its friendship as a privilege honor to others. When this reciprocal equation it is not fulfilled then that relationship must be thrown out… in the most merciless way possible.
I have a friend that use to have a lot of trouble in all his relationships. It was only when he realized what he was doing wrong that he was able to establish long lasting meaningful relationships. In a sense he was not conscious enough of his actions when dealing with any persons. You could argue that he was too full of himself to really care.
Sometimes he will complain that people did not value his friendship. When in reality it was him who did not know how to value others people friendships. He constantly put people friendship to the test. Not out of malice, rather out of inconsideration and selfishness. He thought that his friendship was worth the uneasiness that he caused other people.
He felt quite offended when people simply started avoiding him altogether. The people that were around simply did not want put up with his childish antiques, and some let him know… viciously. Suddenly he started, as nothing more than a compulsion, to apologize for his behavior… constantly. But his actions were not where his words were. Time and time again he committed the same mistakes that he apologized so frequently for. People continued to avoid him more and more. Were they wrong in avoiding him? Not really. They did what any person who values themselves would do. Stay away from those who are not worth their time.
When you value someone’s friendships you do not put it to the test with your selfish behavior. There is no need because a real friendship does not need to be tested. Real friendships are tested by itself, in time as life develops those important moments in life when you truly need a friend. Those are the friendships that nurture and cherish. To selfishly putt a friendship to the test is only a testament of insecurity, of lack of confidence of deserving that friendship.
It is only a matter that the persons that need to test the friendship is so insecure of being deserving of that friend that needs constant reassurance of that friendship. But in its insecurity that person drives those who are around it way. And in self fulfilling prophesy is all alone, desperate for the companionship that did not really valued. And true to form start apologizing.
But how does an “I’m sorry” makes everything alright. How an apology erases the past. In effect an apology only makes the offender feel better. Worst still is a cheap trick to transfer responsibility away. That way the offender does not has to face the consequences of its actions. Now the offender can said “I try, now is the person who does not value my friendship the one that does not want to move on”. Or simply say something like “I thought we were better friends than that” as a form of manipulation to recapture what was lost out of selfishness...
At the end of the day, those who said to you that you do not value their friendship are the ones that need and want your friendship the must.
